Meeting – 11th November, 2024 Agenda Minutes
- Edinburgh World Heritage Trust – Update is that “there have been discussions on the plan and oversight group, but progress has been disappointing. It is unclear how the oversight group will operate, what powers and duties it will have. It may only meet annually. [See minutes]
- RBS Dundas Street PAN – There was a presentation and slides which available via the minutes. Point 4a.
Update on the George St and First New Town Project – There was a presentation and slides which available via the minutes. Point 5a.
Report on Walkabout (First New Town) – The environmental sub committee arranged a walkabout in George Street and the surrounding streets and this was reported on discussed in the meeting, Walkabout Report
Meeting – 9th October, 2024 Agenda Minutes
- Edinburgh World Heritage Trust – Update. EWHT have still not finalised their governance document. NTBCC has contributed to the question from EWHT about what the community want?? On a more positive note after a further meeting it appears that the EWHT does want some input from CC’s and local interest groups.
- EWHT Management Plan [OG] – This in limbo at the minute as they are still considering what should be involved and who should have input. [See minutes]

- RBS Dundas Street Update – Further information is greatly explained in the minutes.
- AOB – There was high pressure water being used outside the Playhouse this weekend, leading to some areas being cordoned off. A McIntosh: Advised that the CEC received UK Government funding for removal of chewing gum.
- Note – Joe spoke to Alan McIntosh to offer for the Broughton Spurtle to place a leaflet holder on Northumberland Street. Subject to committee approval. Broughton Spurtle on the patch
Meeting – 9th September, 2024 Agenda Minutes
- Edinburgh World Heritage Trust [EWHT] – The trust are consulting on changes to their articles of association with Lindsay’s, solicitors. The initial proposal is to review membership. These would restrict membership to only directors/board trustees, omitting residents’ associations, ex-trustees etc. The significantly smaller membership would have voting/decision-making powers. They are also involved in the creation of an Oversight Group [OG] in partnership with Edin CEC, Historic Environment Scotland to manage the world heritage site. This will involve the Community Councils and possible local interest groups but it not clear how they are to do this. EWHT – AGM & Board Meetings
- Draft Princes Street & Waverley Valley Strategy – This proposes a consultation on Princes Street and Waverley Valley changes to the public realm and strategic management of area. TEC Committee meeting 12/9/24. Plan
- RBS Dundas Street PAN – The developers for the old RBS site have submitted a pre application notice for amendments to the site to include Purpose Built Student Flats [PBSA]. See 20/03034/VAR3

- Tattoo Flypasts – CEC would like to reduce the number of tattoo flypasts, because some residents are concerned over noise, pollution and impact on animals and veterans. [More details in minutes – 8B] NTBCC Page
Meeting – 12th June, 2024 Agenda Minutes
- Police Report – E-Bikes – There are problems with pavement-cycling and speed of cyclists. If e-bikes have been modified into ‘vehicles’, riders can be charged under the road traffic act.
- Street Cleansing – P Williamson: there are overflowing bins in the city centre. I have received complaints that people from the New Town are dumping their waste in communal bins. However, my observation this evening is that the bin-hubs look OK. NTBCC – Environment Report
