Nelson Street and Northumberland Place
Waste & Recycling Changes
Letters have been issued to residents of Nelson Street and Northumberland Place about the changes to waste collection in those streets. All households are being issued with Gull Proof Sacks (GPS) and these should be used in future instead of the communal bins and red boxes for recycling. The council has asked for street associations to help with distribution and volunteers are going door to door, during October, handing out the bags and sacks supplied by the council.
Residents can start using the new Green GPS replacing the current red box. With the full new collection service starting from 2nd November (subject to confirmation) and collection dates can be checked at CEC – Bin Collection Days. The black bins will be removed from both upper and lower Nelson Street by the council shortly.
